Philly cult favorite Vacationer headlines Project Home benefit at Boot and Saddle

Your favorite local summertime shoegazers organized a benefit show with Peace and Noise for Project Home last night. Vacationer has always managed to evade me every time they come around, but this time I managed to snag two tickets for a great cause. I've been dying to see these guys for well over a year now, and one thing I'm sure of is that they were well worth the wait. Boot and Saddle, another first for me, was jam packed with all kinds of people vibing to this carefree group, because Vacationer really has a little something for everyone.

They played everyone's favorites, because otherwise it'd be boring, as frontman Kenny Vasoli said onstage. "Good As New," "Paradise Waiting," "In the Grass," and the illusive "Shining" were featured, as well as new tracks from a long overdue tentative 2018 release.

Also on the bill for the night were Palmas and Younger Me, two other bands hailing from the greater Philadelphia area. The event, sponsored by Peace and Noise with proceeds going to Project Home, sold out quickly. Project Home aims to break the cycle of homelessness within the city, and members of all bands are major advocates for the cause. You can learn more about it here
