Noname – Telefone (2016)

start a warm bath and throw this on. noname is the female chi-town smooth/conscious rap you never knew u needed.

David Bowie – Blackstar (2016)

dude was dying and got the heaviest session musicians on the planet to play on his last testament. unorthodox songwriting, coupled with ultramodern textures, put this up there with bowie’s best. and the video for “Lazarus?” insane.

Dirty Projectors – Swing Lo Magellan (2012)

this record has some of the more interesting vocal harmonies you’ll hear. and herky-jerky grooves that shouldn’t make sense, yet make u move. i never know what the hell they’re talking about, but it sounds really cool.

Kanye – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010)

r u kidding me? “Power,” “Runaway,” “All of the Lights,” and “Monster.” this is truly an epic. Yeezy at the peak of his powers.

D’Angelo – Black Messiah (2014)

is it as good as “Voodoo?” maybe, maybe not. that’s a tough standard. but nobody else makes music like this. i find music to be very distracting during lovemaking, but i’d be ok with playing this record as we make the beast with two backs.
