Philly natives Trash Boy debut first LP at Great, How've You Been? Fest

I've been frequenting more of Philadelphia's house show scene, and when I walked in the door of The Woods Friday night, they surprised me by saying, "Take a wristband, are you here for the night or the weekend?" That totally stunned me. Where was I?

We'd ended up at night one of a house show festival weekend, which was pretty cool.

We were there to see our pals in the DIY Trash Boy, because on Friday they dropped their first album, The Future is Trash. These guys are so much fun to watch, and the first time we saw them at The Barbary back in October, I knew they'd be a good time. Their "I don't give a fuck" lyrics paired with the edgy, noisy guitar and bass duo totally epitomizes what DIY is about. What I love about Trash Boy is their competing vocalists. The shouted harmonies are what make these guys unique.

Trash Boy closed Great, How've You Been Fest night one by playing The Future Is Trash in its entirety, and ended on a crowd favorite, "Fuck New York," which had everyone moving.

Also on the list for the night were Little Sister, Very Bad Vibes, Future Twin, Secret Nudist Friends, and DJ BlackBerryBrandy. Our favorites in Honey Tiger were featured on the setlist for night two at the Tralfamadore.

Great, How've You Been fest is the second of three festivals set up by Philly's DIY scene. The next one, Good, And You? is set for this spring.
