Del Water Gap Plays Old Faves and New Releases at Milkboy Philly

We always love catching up with our pals from New York, and this time, Del Water Gap was joined by South Carolina natives, The High Divers, for an awesome late night show at Milkboy on Chestnut.

The High Diver's opened the show with a bluesy, big-band country vibe that had everyone jamming. It was such a great set that I was really surprised I was into, as country is not exactly my genre of choice. But singer Luke Mitchell has this unbelievably electric voice, and he's such a fun and happy performer to watch onstage.

As always, DWG did not disappoint. They even threw some new songs at us, as well as a hilariously unexpected cover of Bowling For Soup's "1985." The band was missing guitarist Kit Conway, and were instead joined by Philly native Nick Cianci. It was his first show ever with the band, and all his nerves about the night were for nothing. The show, as always, was great.

Milkboy is a new favorite venue of ours, and we can't wait to see local Foxtrot & the Get Down there on November 4th.

In the meantime, Del Water Gap will be back on Philly at Saint Joseph's University on November 11th, and again on December 2nd.
